After completing his service in the United States Air Force, Teddy received his music education from East Texas Baptist College. After graduation, he served in several Southern Baptist Churches across East Texas including First Baptist Church, Gun Barrel City, where he retired from full time ministry after 19 years as Minister of Music.

His wife, of 35 years, and he are enjoying their time together in Weatherford, TX, where they are close to two of their nine grandchildren. They are members of First Baptist Church, Dennis, where they continue to seek God's will in serving Him.
